a 10- hour car and walking
tour through the artistic and natural beauties of
Tuscany.
We'll start our tour driving
in the hilly region of Chianti, where the
world-famous red wine called Chianti Classico is
produced. The road traverses beautiful countryside
past vineyards and olive groves surrounding the
typical, elegant farmhouses known as case
coloniche (wine tasting on the way).
We'll then stop to
Siena
the second most interesting town in Tuscany after
Florence. It preserves its medieval character to a
remarkable degree, with its beautiful Gothic
buildings as the Cathedral and Palazzo Pubblico
(lunch in a tipical restaurant).
Next
stop will be in Pienza, a silent hilltop town with a
spectacular view on the surrounding countryside, it was
built by a Renaissance architect, for a Humanist pope:
the ideal city of Renaissance philosophy (cheese
tasting).
Last
stop will be in Montepulciano, another wonderful hilltop
town fomous in the world for its Vino Nobile (wine
tasting in a 16th century cantina).
From
Montepulciano we'll drive to your hotel in Rome.
Driving times:
from Florence to Chianti region 1 hour, to Siena 45
minutes, to Pienza 45 minutes, to Montepulciano 20
minutes, to Rome 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The tour is per a party
of max 4 people, or max 6 people and it includes private
car transfers with fluent English speaking driver-guide

Tuscany.
We'll start our tour driving
to San Gimignano,
a charming hill town which has preserved its medieval
appearance more completely than any other town in
Tuscany, it is surrounded by rich
agricultural land, famous for its wine (notably the
Vernaccia, wine tasting).
We'll then drive to Monteriggioni, a beautifully
preserved medieval fortified village, standing on a
hillock (lunch in a typical restaurant).
We' ll continue our tour
visiting the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, on a
promontory in a thick wood of cypresses, is one of the
best known monasteries in Tuscany (visit to the 15th c.
cloister with frescoes by
Luca Signorelli
and Sodoma).
Next
stop will be in Pienza, a silent hilltop town with a
